Middle School (Grade 7-8)

Hokmah Academy’s Grade 7–8 program marks the transition from foundational learning to disciplined reasoning and deeper academic inquiry. Students progress from structured understanding into formal analysis, learning to think logically, write persuasively, and engage with complex ideas across disciplines. Instruction emphasizes precision in language, clarity of thought, and the integration of knowledge into a coherent worldview.

Grade 7

Focus: Transition into analytical thinking and structured reasoning

  • Literature: Classical texts, poetry, and guided analysis

  • Writing & Rhetoric: Clear thesis writing, structured paragraphs, introduction to argumentation

  • Grammar & Language: Advanced grammar and usage in context

  • Latin (Optional): Continued study with increasing grammatical depth

  • Mathematics: Pre-algebra and logical problem-solving

  • Science: Life science with observation, classification, and introductory data interpretation

  • History: Classical and early world history with primary source exposure

  • Philosophy and Western Text: Overview of Philosophy and Western Literatures

  • Logic (Introductory): Categories, relationships, and basic argument structure

Focus: Strengthening logic, analysis, and academic independence

  • Writing & Rhetoric: Multi-paragraph essays, analytical and persuasive writing with textual evidence

  • Grammar & Language: Refinement and mastery in written expression

  • Latin (Optional): Formal grammar and translation

  • Mathematics: Algebra readiness / Algebra I

  • Science: Physical science with systems thinking, measurement, and explanation

  • History: Ancient civilizations with emphasis on Greece and Rome

  • Philosophy and Western Text: Integration of Philosophy and Western Literature

  • Logic: Formal logic and structured argumentation
